The Scorpion School Sprit Overwhelms the Campus of Cuttington University

Under the leadership of Dr. Romelle A. Horton, President of Cuttington University, the Scorpion spirt has returned with excitement and pride as being demonstrated by both students and staff. Few years ago, campus life was gradually fading, as students spent most weekends off campus looking for places to be entertained.

Not anymore, because Dr. Horton, The President of the University has changed the narrative by appealing with selective alumni in the United States, who were also members of the famous Cuttington Musical Society to help the University by donating musical instruments. This would spice up campus life and students will appreciate spending weekends on campus. We are pleased to report that the President’s appeal was granted and the University received a set of musical instruments. This is a demonstration of a prudent leader.

Our President is on a transformative mission to take the University to the next level of greatness whereby staff and students will develop the right mind set for the University and appreciate it to be conducive for working and learning. The President has always stated that she is interested in developing the whole person. By so doing, when our students leave the walls of Cuttington, he or she will be better prepared to face life challenges.

Cuttington’s pride is becoming more visible around campus as students are seen wearing Scorpion memorabilia: gold and blue. A song has be coined that demonstrate the scorpion spirit and to showcase the Cuttington brand: “everywhere we gooooo! People want to knowoooo! Who we are? We are the Scorpions, the Mighty Mighty Scorpions”.

From Hoffman Station to Suakoko, we still remain the best in Liberia and we are proud to be scorpions, a place where innovation lives. The President has committed herself in ensuring that the University achieves greatness through innovation and that it maintains scholarly integrity, as we Light CU! Feed CU! And Grow CU.
