Cuttington University Welcomes AICAT Guests

On Tuesday, 24 March 2025 an event was held at Cuttington University main campus in Suakoko, Bong County, the University Administration hosted distinguished guests from the Arava International Center for Agricultural Training (AICAT). The welcome program which marked the first of AICAT’s leaders visit to Liberia highlighted this as a significant milestone in strengthening the agricultural education collaboration between Liberia and Israel. Meanwhile, this will be the third badge of interns that is expected to be taken to Israel in August of this year.

The main purpose of the visit was to initiate the in-country recruitment and selection process for the next cohort of interns who will participate in the prestigious AICAT internship program in Israel this year. This annual program offers young Liberians valuable agricultural training opportunity, empowering them to become leaders in the sector and to contribute to job creation and sustainable agricultural practices in Liberia.
The partnership between Liberia and Israel emphasizes innovation, education, and agricultural development, aiming to address challenges and foster growth in the sector. The collaboration is continuous lasting impact on Liberia’s agricultural landscape.
In summary, the ceremony which serves as a prelude to the vetting exercise was used to have encouraged the candidates to seize this opportunity, learn, and grow, emphasizing their role in the future of Liberia's agriculture. The event concluded with gratitude for AICAT’s transformative efforts and optimism for a successful partnership that continues to contribute to a sustainable agricultural future of Liberia.



The program was attended by a delegation from the State of Israel, Cuttington University Administration headed by its president, Dr. Romelle Horton, Representatives from other Universities in and around Bong County, and students.
