Cuttington University Restores Normalcy Following Dormitory Fire

February 27, 2025 – Cuttington University is pleased to inform the public that normalcy has been restored on our Suakoko campus following a fire incident at Rally Hall, our primary female resident hall, on the afternoon of Thursday, February 27, 2025.


Thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of our students, faculty, staff, and administration, the situation was quickly brought under control, and all individuals present remained safe.

The University is relieved to confirm that no injuries or fatalities resulted from the incident. While we understand the concern this may have caused within our community, we want to reassure students, parents, and stakeholders that the well-being of our students remains our top priority.


The Administration is actively providing support to ensure minimal disruption to our academic and residential experience. Investigation and Campus Safety Measures An exhaustive investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.

In response, Cuttington University is strengthening its fire safety measures across campus. This includes a comprehensive review of all dormitory facilities, reinforcement of fire prevention protocols, and additional safety training for students and staff to mitigate future risks. Importantly, this incident has not impacted overall campus accommodations.


The University has made strategic investments in upgrading and solarizing dormitory facilities to ensure reliable housing options for students. Academic Schedule Remains Unaffected Cuttington University remains committed to academic excellence and is pleased to confirm that classes will resume as scheduled on March 3, 2025.


We encourage all students to return to campus on time and remain focused on their educational pursuits.
