DOCTORAL PROGRAM
GREETINGS FROM CUTTINGTON UNIVERSITY'S HISTORIC DOCTORAL PROGRAM
Dear friend,
Welcome to something historic—Liberia’s first Doctoral program! After 175 years we have shattered the ceiling of higher education in this nation! And even as you explore the particulars of this program, you are already making history for being amongst the first explorers of the Doctoral Program at Cuttington! So, go ahead and explore!
Our doctoral program is unique in many ways, but I want to share with you a few of the program’s uniqueness:
It’s Universal. Students in other parts of the world can enroll in our program and be immersed in a quality and recognizable post-graduate program.
It’s Indigenous. While universal in nature, the programs have an indigenous appeal—addressing issues of poverty alleviation, immigration, gender, conflict recognition and resolution, and leadership—all of which are prominent and important to Liberia, Africa, and the world.
It’s Accessible. Students will have the option to enroll for seated classes, online classes, or a hybrid enrollment. This makes our doctoral program accessible for those in Liberia as well as those abroad.
It’s Affordable. Compared to other universities in the region and around the world, our cost is reasonable and affordable.
I hope you find answers to all your questions as you browse these pages. But if not, do contact us and we will be glad to further assist you.

The DMin. in Educational Leadership admits lay and ordained applicants.
MINISTRY DEVELOPMENT
The Doctor of Ministry in Ministry Development at Cuttington University is a degree in practical theology that equips students with skills for innovative ministry. The main thrust is to motivate students in creative ministry endeavors suited to their own contextual ministry needs. As such, the study is not extra-territorial to their current ministries but instead broadens the shape, scope, and depth of their creative skills in ministry development. Since it is geared more towards studies in praxis than orthodoxy, it is quite hands on—taking knowledge from the classroom into the harvest field of ministry.
